Simplify — free tools, paid features & renewal
Which tool fits your job search?
Filter by budget, task and career stage. Every tool listed has a free tier to start with.
6 tools match
Organize applications · Free starting point
Teal
Start with free resume versions and unlimited job tracking. Keep applications, notes and follow-up dates together.
Watch out: A tracker helps you stay organized; it does not find or secure a job for you.
Check Teal’s official plansMatch a job description · Free starting point
Jobscan
Use the five free monthly resume scans on your highest-priority roles.
Watch out: Its match score is the vendor's comparison, not the employer's ATS score or an interview prediction.
Check Jobscan’s official plansBuild a resume · Free starting point
Rezi
One resume, three PDF downloads and one AI interview make the free tier suitable for a first draft.
Watch out: Multiple tailored versions and repeated PDF exports can outgrow the free allowance quickly.
Check Rezi’s official plansDraft & rewrite · Free starting point
ChatGPT
Use the free plan to rewrite verified experience, prepare outreach and rehearse questions in text.
Watch out: It can invent achievements and company facts. Supply evidence and review every sentence.
Check ChatGPT’s official plansPractice interviews · Free starting point
Yoodli
Starter includes five lifetime sessions, not five fresh sessions each month. Try spoken interview practice before committing.
Watch out: Check recording and AI-training terms: the pricing page explicitly lists data exclusion from AI training for Advanced. Do not assume all tiers have that protection.
Check Yoodli’s official plansReduce form filling · Free starting point
Simplify
Basic Copilot autofill, a manual resume builder and a job tracker are free. Review each form before submitting.
Watch out: Autofill does not verify your answers or a vacancy's legitimacy. Paid automation is not a substitute for deciding whether you fit a role.

How do you use AI for one strong application?
- 1
Verify the role and gather evidence
Find the vacancy on the employer's official careers page. Keep a factual master resume and a list of projects, tools, dates and achievements. Remove sensitive details from the copy you will share with AI.
- 2
Compare requirements before rewriting
Separate must-have credentials from preferences. Ask ChatGPT for a requirement-to-evidence table or spend one Jobscan scan on a priority role. Mark gaps honestly rather than adding skills you do not have.
- 3
Tailor a small number of strong bullets
Use Rezi, Teal or ChatGPT to improve the relevant experience. Preserve real job titles, dates and outcomes. Replace an AI-invented metric with a verified figure or a clear non-numeric result.
- 4
Check the actual exported document
Use the employer's requested file type. Copy text from the exported resume into a plain text editor and check reading order, contact details and headings. This catches obvious export problems; it does not certify every ATS.
- 5
Submit, inspect and track
If using Simplify, review every autofilled field, especially eligibility, salary and screening answers. Save the job description, resume version, submission date and a sensible follow-up reminder in Teal or your existing tracker.
- 6
Rehearse from real examples
Prepare a few stories using situation, task, action and result. Practice with Yoodli or record yourself, then check both the content and delivery. A confident answer still needs to be true.
Which AI job-search tool should you choose first?
Choose the stage where you are stuck, not the app with the longest feature list. No interviews after many suitable applications? Review role fit and resume evidence before purchasing an interview coach. Interviews but weak answers? Practice speaking before buying another resume builder. Too many lost follow-ups? Use a tracker.
For a no-cost starting setup, use one free writing assistant, one tracker and a spreadsheet of verified accomplishments. Teal can combine the tracker and resume workspace; ChatGPT can help edit. Add Jobscan only when a particular job-description comparison is useful, or Yoodli when spoken practice is the problem.
The picks above are ordered by workflow, not by measured quality or success rates. A tool that helps a first-time applicant format a resume may be unnecessary for a senior candidate with a strong existing document.
What do free AI job-search tools actually include?
Teal's help page lists unlimited resume creation, editing, exporting and job tracking. Its free AI allowance is a one-time set of five bullet generations, two summaries and two cover letters; keyword and Analyzer feedback are restricted. Unlimited resume exports do not mean unlimited free AI writing.
Jobscan's five free scans renew monthly. Rezi's free tier lists one resume, three PDF downloads and one AI interview. Yoodli's five Starter sessions are a lifetime allowance; its support page says a practice session longer than 30 seconds counts. These limits are different, so do not treat every 'free' label as the same offer.
Simplify's basic autofill and manual builder/tracker are free. ChatGPT has a free plan, but model and tool allowances vary. Try a complete application with free tools before deciding that a subscription solves a real problem.
How much will these tools cost over a year—or a short search?
For three months at the verified monthly prices, ChatGPT Plus costs $60, Rezi Pro $87, Jobscan monthly $149.85 and Simplify+ monthly $119.97. At quarterly billing, Jobscan is $89.95 upfront and Simplify+ is $89.99 upfront for that period. These are comparisons of billing totals, not promises that three months is enough to get hired.
Twelve monthly payments would total $240 for ChatGPT Plus, $348 for Rezi Pro, $599.40 for Jobscan and $479.88 for Simplify+. Four quarterly renewals total $359.80 for Jobscan or $359.96 for Simplify+. Yoodli Pro's advertised $8/month is billed annually: budget $96 for the year, not an $8 cancellable month. Advanced is $240 annually.
Rezi lists a $149 Lifetime option. On price alone, six $29 Pro payments ($174) exceed that upfront amount, but compare inclusions and current terms rather than assuming Lifetime is identical to every future Pro benefit. Teal's complete live paid price was unavailable during verification, so we do not quote or annualize it.
Simplify's $19.99 weekly option costs $79.96 across four weekly charges, versus $39.99 for its monthly option. Jobscan's quarterly plan page lists a seven-day trial that converts to a quarterly charge unless canceled in time; the monthly option does not have that trial. Check the checkout date, renewal period, cancellation and refund terms before entering a card.
Can an AI resume score tell you whether an ATS will reject you?
No. An applicant tracking system (ATS) is software employers use to manage recruitment. A resume tool's match score is its own analysis of a resume and job description. It cannot reveal every employer's configuration, recruiter judgment or candidate pool. We do not claim an independently proven interview uplift for any tool here.
Use feedback to find accurate wording: if you really used SQL but your resume only says 'database work,' naming SQL can clarify the experience. Do not insert a required license, degree, job title or years of experience you do not have. Repeating keywords without examples can make a resume less credible to a human reader.
Treat readability as a separate check from matching. Clear headings, straightforward layout and an employer-approved file type are sensible starting points. If a recruiter or application form gives specific instructions, follow those rather than a vendor's score target.
What prompts produce useful job-search drafts without invented experience?
Resume prompt: 'Using only the facts below, compare my experience with this job description. Return a table: requirement, supporting evidence, missing evidence. Then rewrite three relevant bullets. Do not invent numbers, skills, qualifications or responsibilities. Ask questions where evidence is missing.' Paste a redacted resume and the actual role description.
Cover-letter prompt: 'Write a short cover-letter draft using these two verified examples. Explain why they matter for this role. Do not invent company news, contacts or achievements. Flag any company claim I should verify and avoid generic praise.' Replace every flagged claim with a checked fact or remove it.
Interview prompt: 'Act as an interviewer for this role. Ask one question at a time. After my answer, identify missing context, my actual action and the result. Ask a realistic follow-up. Do not write fictional experiences for me.' For a technical interview, check answers against authoritative documentation rather than trusting the chatbot's grading.
Outreach prompt: 'Draft a brief message to this recruiter referencing the role and one relevant achievement from the facts below. Do not imply we have met or that I have a referral. Keep it respectful and easy to decline.' Human review matters more than polished wording.
What personal information should you keep out of AI tools?
For drafting, replace your phone, personal email and street address with placeholders, and remove references' details, identity numbers and confidential employer information. Add accurate contact details back into the final document yourself. Never upload passwords, financial account details or non-public client data.
OpenAI's Data Controls documentation explains how to turn off 'Improve the model for everyone' for personal ChatGPT conversations. That is not a promise of zero retention. Teal's privacy policy explicitly covers resumes, work history, cover letters and application notes; review what you are storing, not just the headline AI feature.
Yoodli's pricing page lists AI-training data exclusion as an Advanced feature. Do not assume that all free or paid plans offer it. Review recording, retention and deletion terms before practicing with sensitive stories, and do not upload someone else's recorded interview without permission.
We have not audited the providers' privacy or security controls, and do not claim identical retention or training policies across them. Check the current policy for any tool before uploading a resume or recording, particularly if your work is confidential.
Should you use AI to automatically apply to hundreds of jobs?
Not as a default strategy. Autofill can save repeated typing, but an application still makes claims about your experience and eligibility. Review screening answers and avoid automation that conflicts with the employer's or platform's rules. Never use a hidden live-answer assistant in an interview where outside help is prohibited.
Simplify+ includes automation features, but they are not evidence that sending more applications produces better results. Start with a small set of appropriate roles, tailor truthful evidence and track responses. If you get no interviews, diagnose role fit, clarity and missing requirements before increasing volume.
Verify a vacancy on the employer's own careers site. Be cautious of requests to pay to obtain a job, deposit a check and forward money, or hand over sensitive identity information before the employer and purpose are verified. The FTC's job-scam guidance is linked below.
How did we choose and verify these recommendations?
We compared official pricing, product and support pages on November 8, 2026. Selection criteria were task fit, usable free access, transparent billing, export or device limitations, and whether the tool adds something beyond a general assistant. Official sources are linked beside each pick and collected below.
We have not run hands-on comparative tests, measured ATS parsing accuracy or tracked hiring outcomes. Vendor success stories and match scores were not used as proof of effectiveness. Our recommendations are editorial judgments based on documented features, not an objective performance leaderboard.
Yoodli and Rezi prices were available directly on their pricing pages; Jobscan and ChatGPT pricing was retrieved from official pages through search. Teal's paid pricing could not be fully confirmed, so the recommendation focuses on its documented free features. Recheck prices at checkout; promotions, tax, location and plan changes may alter the amount.

Common questions
What is the best free AI tool for job seekers?
There is no single best free tool for every task. Teal is a useful starting workspace for unlimited resume versions and job tracking, ChatGPT helps with drafts, and Jobscan offers five resume scans monthly. For spoken interview practice, Yoodli provides five lifetime Starter sessions. Choose the free tool that addresses your immediate bottleneck.
Is ChatGPT enough for a job search?
ChatGPT can help revise truthful resume bullets, draft outreach and rehearse interview questions. It is not a dedicated application tracker and does not supply an employer's ATS score. Pair the free plan with a tracker or spreadsheet, and check every generated claim before submitting.
Is Jobscan worth paying for?
Jobscan may be worth paying for if repeated job-description comparisons are useful and five free monthly scans are insufficient. Its verified price is $49.95 monthly or $89.95 charged every three months. Try free scans first; its score is editing feedback, not proof that a recruiter will select you.
Can AI tools guarantee interviews or get a resume past an ATS?
No tool in this comparison is verified to guarantee an interview or universal ATS acceptance. Employers use different workflows and judge qualifications, evidence and fit. Use AI to clarify genuine experience and find relevant wording, not to fabricate credentials or chase a score.
Should I buy an annual AI job-search subscription?
Only if ongoing use justifies the upfront cost and you understand the terms. Yoodli Pro is advertised at $8/month but billed $96 annually; Advanced is $240 annually. For a short search, compare usable free access and monthly alternatives rather than assuming the smallest advertised monthly figure is cheapest.
